The most important holiday of all because without women nobody would exist!  This is a day to appreciate women – Black, Hispanic, Asian, White, young or old, rich or poor, thin or... not thin – to respect them, to pay attention to them, to listen to them, to support them, to help them, to attend to them, to understand their beauty. To give thanks to them for all that they do and that they are. And to ask ourselves... Why should this day be different from every other day?

What does it mean to be a woman?

To me it seems the that best answer would be “life”. It is the woman who creates life, it is she who maintains life, it is she who makes the family and raises the children, and she who always thinks of her loved ones.

It is the man who makes the catastrophes of the world: the wars, poverty, and repression, the destruction of the environment, the economic crises, the violence. Is is the man who is self-absorbed, watching sports, playing video games, drinking, chasing women, thinking of himself. And it is the man who disappears, but the woman is always there.

Of course not all men are like that, nor all women so perfect, but in general the women is one we all trust, the one that gives and respects life, the one that gives love, and is the only force that keeps the world from total destruction.

And that's why we owe the woman an enormous debt of gratitude. May all the world learn to respect, appreciate, understand, listen to, and learn from women. And one day may they take charge of the world to put it as God intended.
