It could not be more exquisite.
Although Salsa is usually associated with Puerto Rico and New York, there
are Dominican salseros too, such as Cuco Valoy, Gilberto Santa
Rosa, José Alberto, Raulín Rosendo, Mickey Taveras, and the one who
started it all: Johnny Pacheco! Plus some other salsa performers –
like our featured artist Sol – with Dominican roots, as well as
Dominican artists noted for merengue or other styles – as Johnny
Ventura, Milly Quezada, and Sergio Vargas – who also sometimes perform
salsa.
The Johnny Ventura 45th anniversary concert includes guest
appearances by Los Hermanos Rosario, Frank Reyes, Los Reyes del Mambo, Los
Toros Band, Los Potros, Cuco Valoy, Kinito Mendez, El Gringo De La Bachata,
Fernando Villalona, Milly Quezada, Grupo Niche, El Gran Combo, Jose Alberto
El Canario, and Celia Cruz.
The En Concierto DVD features performances by Frank Reyes, Monchy
& Alexandra, El Gringo de la Bachata, Joe Veras, and Yoskar Sarante.
