Major League Baseball Fan Fest, July 12th to July 16th at the Jacob Javits
Center at 12th Avenue 34th street in Manhattan, was a celebration of the All
Star Game that was played July 16th at Citi Field, home of the New York
Mets. There were museums, MLB merchandise, and former baseball players
signing autographs. And the Hispanic Baseball
Museum was a big part of the event.
Here is what is described in the brochure that was distributed at
the event: “The Hispanic Heritage Baseball Museum Hall of Fame was
established on June 23rd 1999 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
dedicated to recognize the contributions of Latin-Americans that have
made on the great game of Baseball.”
They added, About us: Presently the museum is a traveling museum hall
of fame. A treasure with visions and mission to eventually have a permanent
address in the United States, currently we are based in San Francisco,
California.” Those days yours truly was given the honor of working,
learning, being part of a family and a positive future. You can see from
the photos we all had a fine experience.
