August 9, 2009, downtown Manhattan, New York City: The 27th annual Dominican
Day Parade along Sixth Avenue (Avenue of the Americas) from 36th to Central
Park to the energizing sounds of merengue and bachata – the
threatening skies full of thunderclouds didn't keep anybody away. The
parade was led by Frederick
Martínez, El Pachá, and the Guest of honor was Hector Acosta, “El
Torito”, and there were performances by just about everyone, including
the guest of honor, Kiko Rodríguez, and many others.
